Shruti has a knack for applying her skills, experience and ideas to varied platforms and subjects. In the last 18 years, she has worked as a copywriter, a news television producer, a communications specialist, trainer, and an inclusion advocate. Her content creation ranges across subjects like politics, business, food and entertainment, environment, defense and strategic affairs, disability and more.

While she learned a great deal from working in large media groups like Network 18 and India Today, she also expanded her scope of work associating with startups and small-sized operations. She has single handedly been responsible for curation of multimedia content, networking, and liaising with corporate as well government players.

Moving away from the media, she forayed into the social sector in 2016. Here, she chose to work especially on disability inclusion, combining her personal and professional experiences. She has been a caregiver to her mother since she was four years old. Having experienced disability at an early age, she has natural empathy and understanding of the complexities involved with disability and exclusion.

She has extensive exposure on including persons with disabilities into the mainstream using technology and other life skills. She has counseled and trained persons with disabilities to lead independent and dignified lives.

A former journalist, Shruti is now associated with civil society organisations as well as for-profit companies, to promote equity and equality. Using her techniques of communication and storytelling, she dedicates her time to sensitizing, raising awareness and voicing the rights of persons with disabilities and other vulnerable sections of the population.

She writes a fortnightly column on ‘Media and Disability’ on a B2B platform targeted towards the media and marketing fraternity. She also contributes her views to a California based website, Disability Media Wire.
